“Nobody ever figures out what life is about and it doesn’t matter.”
Well Feynman hasn’t and certainly has no right to say this. What he means is: he was brought up as an atheist, abandoned his own cultures mystical traditions, and became the worst sort of scientist.
“ Explore the world…...” Banal.
“ Work as hard and as much as you want to …” The American dream?
“Don’t think about what you want to be but what you want to do……” There are plenty of wise words on the nature of being and doing. Unfortunately these aren’t some of them.
“Keep up some sort of minimum……” What is this? It’s trivial again.
So yes. Plenty of people have said some amazing things.....
And who the hell are you to determine if he has the right to say it or not? And oh, Feynman wasn't raised an atheist, get your facts straight first. ("at thirteen I was not only converted to other religious views but I also stopped believing that the Jewish people are in any way 'the chosen people'")
Wow, so fucking stupid. And this is what you find "offensive"? Because it wasn't in agreement with your notion of "mystical" or "cultural" dogma? Yeah right.
" There are plenty of wise words on the nature of being and doing."
And who decides what's "wise" and what's not? You I presume?
I do not have to get my facts straight. I objected to the words that were quoted. I know nothing about Richard Feynman. That is your role as the person who is promoting his words, for whatever reason that is.
As for wisdom, yes. I decide
Uh they have the right to express their worldview - and purpose of life isn't some objective 'fact' to be "wrong" about, each of them have unique perspectives to offer as far as it's not associated with any dogma. So I don't see WTF is your point.
"This is not mystical or cultural dogma. It’s common sense."
What?
"I do not have to get my facts straight. I objected to the words that were quoted. I know nothing about Richard Feynman."
Interesting that you whine about how you got "offended" by his worldview and post blatantly wrong info in a post in a post directed at him as criticism. And you say that you don't have to get your facts straight? Oh yeah, I forgot that it doesn't apply to you, but just rest of us.
"As for wisdom, yes. I decide"
Feel free to stick to your deviations then - that might be ideal for ya if you think somehow everything except your worldview is "offensive".
