Came across this Sartre gem. Cheers to one of the ATG philosophers and my personal favorites :)

I mean no disrespect, but... you can be religious and be a humanist. To assume you have to give up religion in order to love your fellow man or "see clearly" is just as absurd as saying you have to have religion in order to be moral.

Humanism is not determined by religious beliefs or a lack thereof, but by being a good person.

In the past however, which is what this man probally meant by "Smashed to bits...falling to pieces" Relgion has been the cause of alot of wars.

Also it`s lead to massacers, such as the one where the alleged cathlic quote came from "“Kill them all. God will recognize his own.” [link]

Wow, I am SO sorry for this insanely late reply. Currently I've been job-seraching and I forgot all about your comment. (It got buried under a bunch of others.)

Yeah, I realize that's probably what the man meant; however, religion hasn't been the cause of that many wars in the grand scheme of things. According to The Encyclopedia of War, of the 1,760 wars, 123 of them were the result of religion which, although a big number in itself, constitues 6% as a whole.

Massacres such as that are horrible, but as with war, religion is not the sole cause of them. If anything, human nature is.

Not trying to disrespect or troll, just discussing. :)

The loss of human life for a mere idea or greed is disgusting. we have a very flawed nature...

Not a pleasant font to read, but nice quote. You're using a hyphen where you should use an em dash though. Press Alt + 0151 for the em dash. In the second sentence use a semicolon instead of a comma and the same for the fifth sentence.
